“The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you'll go.” — Dr. Seuss
Rating: 9/10"I had no idea then that the little boy covered in dirt would one day become the most important person in my life." | Another book finished, another book review for you. This time around it's Amber Garza's The Summer We Fell. Overall, it was just the type of book I love. Sloane and Cruz have been best friends since kindergarten. Now that they're older and both dating here and there — Cruz more so than Sloane — they're beginning to realize what's right in front of them — Cruz more so than Sloane (see a pattern here?). To sum up my feelings about it, I loved it. My only fault came from it almost being a bit too much about their relationship and not enough back story. I felt the pace of it seemed to fast to be realistic, but for a quick summer read, it was just right. It was short, so I don't have too much else to say about it other than the fact that Garza made it difficult to hate or dislike Adam. He was endearing and I felt bad for him when Sloane realized her true feelings. However, I felt like he was too OK with her decision. It's almost like he didn't really care at all. |
